Hebrews

We rejoined our study in the book of Hebrews with the beginning of chapter seven as the writer takes a closer look at Jesus as our High Priest, greater than the Priests from the tribe of Levi, by highlighting the little known King and Priest Melchizedek, who blessed Abraham as he returned from defeating those who had captured his nephew Lott. Abraham then gave a tithe to Melchizedek from the spoils gained in that battle. The writer details this as the lesser (Abraham) being blessed by the greater (Melchizedek) and Abraham the Patriarch of the priesthood tithing to the greater Priest Melchizedek who is like the Son Of God, but who Jesus is greater than, because Jesus finished the calling of the priesthood on the cross.
